This is another photograph of the Front Range Lighthouse in Port Dalhousie, Ontario. This picture was taken from the west pier of the former Welland Canal entrance. For one hundred and sixteen years this old beacon was manually operated by a lighthouse keeper. In the year 1968 this lighthouse was fitted with an automatic mechanism, thus unfortunately rendering the lighthouse keeper useless.
