Front Range Lighthouse [#76]  - Click for previous

Displayed above is a photograph of an elderly man sitting on the steps of the Front Range Lighthouse in Port Dalhousie, Ontario. This old beacon was constructed at the end of a long fifteen hundred foot pier in 1852. Until 1932 the tapered square wood lighthouse served as the primary northern entry point for the Welland Canal, and to this day it still continues to guide ships into the harbour.
