This is an old abandoned boat that sits on the southern shore of Lake Ontario. Ever since I was a young boy, whenever I was heading for the big city of Toronto or Hamilton I would acknowledge this beautiful ship. The name of the boat is La Grande Hermine Enr and it exists now as a relic on Jordan Harbour.
Just a few years ago I read in our local newspaper that it was the victom of vandalism. A group of teenagers set it on fire. The moment that I read about this arson I was devistated that anyone could deliberately destroy such a prestige part of history. They were talking about removing the remains from the harbour because of obvious risks.
Since I got home today, I have been trying to find any information pertaining to this boat. I was unsuccessful.
