This is an old abandoned lock that once belonged to the main artery between Lake Erie and Lake Ontario. When you're in the vicinity you can't help but wonder what it was like during the late eighteen hundreds, when this place was booming with industrial activity.
The lock in this picture was part of the Third Welland Canal. It has been decommissioned since 1931 when the existing fourth canal was opened and used for the first time.
